Pregnancy Pain
At Chiropractic Care of Lexington, we help with pain caused by pregnancy and postpartum difficulties. Seeing a Chiropractor is highly recommended during pregnancy!
Sciatica/Leg Pain
Do you have dull, achy, sharp, toothache-like, pins and needles, burning, numbness, tingling or an electric shock sensation that begins in your low back/pelvis and travels down one or both legs? These are symptoms of sciatica caused by nerve compression and are treated on a regular basis in our office.
Shoulder Pain
After a few sets of tennis, or an exercise session at the gym, your arm or shoulder suddenly feels stiff. Perhaps a twinge occurs with a specific movement. Maybe you woke up one morning with your head in an odd position. Perhaps the simple task of brushing your hair caused the pain. Does this sound like you? This type of pain is more common than you think.
Neck Pain
Does sitting at your computer cause pain in your neck and upper back by the end of the day? Have you ever finished some type of physical activity or just awoken in the morning and just did not feel comfortable in your neck? These are all typical symptoms of neck problems that are caused by misalignments of the spinal segments in the neck and upper back.
Lower Back Pain
Lower back pain is the single leading cause of disability worldwide, according to the Global Burden of Disease 2010. Around 31 million Americans experience low-back pain at any given time.
Chiropractic Manipulation
The Chiropractic Adjustment or manipulation is performed exclusively by a Doctor of Chiropractic. The gentle thrust is delivered by hand, with an activator tool or Thompson Drop Table. This is performed to correct vertebral subluxation or a misaligned vertebral joint.
Electrical Stimulation
Electrical stimulation involves stimulating local nerve cells that reduce pain and discomfort by blocking the transmission of the pain signals(pain gate mechanism) or by stimulating the release of pain reducing endorphins
Therapeutic Exercise
Therapeutic Exercise focuses on restoring and maintaining strength, endurance, flexibility, stability and balance. The goal of TE is to return injured soft tissue to a fully functioning pain-free state.
Intersegmental Traction
Spinal Decompression Therapy is used to realign the components of the spine in order to relieve pressure on a pinched nerve causing chronic pain. This therapy increases circulation to the damaged disc, allowing it to begin the natural healing process. This may relieve disc pressure and also reduce compression of the nearby spinal nerve roots.
Flexion Distraction
Dry needling therapy is a treatment in which a qualified professional applies sterile needles (with no liquid inside) to certain areas of the body.
